Located on the busy corner of Southgate Street and Kimbrose Way the former Black Swan Hotel was ideally located for the conversion into affordable city centre apartments. The scheme included the conversion of the existing listed building and a new extension to the West to accommodate 22 new apartments.

Cottages
Location: Patch Ridings, Finstock
Description: Refurbishment and extension of listed cottages
Completion: 2005
The Cornbury Park Estate has a large number of derelict former workers cottages and outbuildings and the extension and refurbishment of the cottages at Patch Ridings formed part of the estates long term revenue funding strategy. The 2 listed cottages were converted into large rental properties with off street parking and private gardens.
New Cotswold Stone Cottages
Location: Shipton Oliffe, Gloucestershire
Description: Construction of 5 new dwellings
Completion: 2009
The redevelopment of a former coach depot site to provide a range of 5 Cotswold stone built houses with detached garages at the rear and served by its own sewage treatment plant. The cottage design was chosen to be sympathetic with the adjacent properties with matching wall, window and roof details and materials echoing the Cotswold vernacular.
Refurbishment of Historic Park and Buildings
Location: Montpellier Park, Cheltenham
Description: Refurbishment of buildings and landscaping
Completion: 2008
bplarchitecture acted as architectural consultant and designers for the refurbishment of the existing proscenium building and public toilets and improvements to the existing landscape including new tennis courts, children’s play park, railings and soft landscaping in collaboration with LDA design who carried out the landscaping works.
48 New Apartments, St James Square
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Description: Construction of 48 new apartments
Completion: 2006
bplarchitecture were appointed to produce obtain building regulation approval and produce the working drawings for 2 blocks of 24 apartments in St James Square, Cheltenham. Situated on a restricted brownfield site the blocks were concrete frames with a lightweight externally insulated render system.
