Philippa Devas is an experienced interior designer whose distinctive style blends traditional with modern and classical with innovative. During her time as assistant to Chester Jones at Colefax & Fowler and then at Chester Jones Ltd., she honed her natural talent and highly developed eye for space and colour, proportions and texture. In 1998 Philippa established Devas Designs, which takes on a diverse range of projects from large country houses to modern London flats and much in between.
Over the last decade, she has carved out a successful niche for the company with her chic, sophisticated, muted style combining elegance and subtle impact to create a visual reveal in every room. Where possible, Philippa uses existing architectural elements as the starting point for each project and works collaboratively with her clients to realise their vision. Devas Designs regularly sources furniture, rugs, paintings and cleverly selected works of art both as part of a design brief or as an individual project. Her friendly nature ensures that the project can be an enjoyable one for the client, and excursions with Philippa to fabric houses and her 'little black book' of artisans can bring a pleasurable element to many of the projects as well as an opportunity for client and designer to really get to know each other's style.
She has been in the House & Garden Directory of the 100 Leading Interior Designers for a number of years.
