What lies behind Ellen Ripa Interiors is a true passion for creating beautiful and unique interiors respecting the period and original style of your home. We bring a contemporary look using both modern and classic pieces enabling us to create more characterful living spaces.
Based in London, our Scandinavian approach stretches well beyond our choice of fittings and furniture; it is present in every aspect of our design process. Our aim is to offer a unique and refreshing solution to your home project through a high level of personalised service and positive attitude.
From our very first meeting we try to grasp your needs and requirements to create the perfect home for you, best suited for your lifestyle and preferences which in turn will determine what layout, finishes and materials will be used.
Last but not least, one of our main objectives is to make the re-decorating process of your home as stress and worry-free as possible for you. Once the proposed designs have been signed off, the job becomes ours and you need not worry about a thing!
Growing up in the South of France, Ellen left her homeland Sweden for good at the age of eight.
Twelve years later, she made London her home, originally merely the place where she would come to study before going back to Sweden or France. But being away from home only made her Scandinavian roots stronger, and is today the foundation for Ellen Ripa Interiors.
After two years of running a Classic Swedish furniture business in Chelsea, she soon realised there was a gap in the market for a more contemporary Scandinavian approach to interior design.
As the lead designer at Ellen Ripa Interiors, the Nordic feel is present throughout her colour and texture choices; however she strongly believes that each home must have a unique feel and enjoys mixing textiles and furniture from various origins and periods to avoid the “déjà vu”. This vision is the result of her international upbringing intermingling various cultures and styles, and very much of her childhood homes where period pieces were always mixed with über modern designs and art.
It is her passion for creating beautiful spaces and excitement at looking at slightly derelict homes with a million ideas springing through her mind that is today the basis for her designs.
