Emma Anderson is an interior decorator and historic building consultant working in both commercial and residential property.
With a background in property marketing, Emma retrained as an interior decorator in 2004, and prompted by her interest in historic buildings, she gained a Masters in Historic Conservation in 2010. She now has a very wide range of experience in all aspects of interior design and works on a variety of project types and sizes, from a single room, to being part of a team on large scale refurbishments.
Her experience lends itself particularly to work in listed and historic buildings. Working with sympathetic and experienced suppliers and contractors, Emma can carry out relevant research and design schemes that combine the old with the new effectively. She works with conservation experts and planning officers where appropriate and can apply for the relevant Listed Building Consents if necessary.
Emma’s aim is to really understand the needs of the client – private or commercial – and to help them realise their wishes, within budget. A well designed interior should not show how much work has gone into it. It should just feel right. Whether it is elegant or relaxed, contemporary or classic, minimal or traditional, the space should fulfil its function, be well planned, and look great.
