Artisan Bar & Restaurant Our clients approached us to redevelop their existing hotel restaurant to create a stand alone contemporary restaurant and bar with a 1st floor function space, roof terrace and outdoor covered dining. We worked closely with our clients to develop a concept, choosing everything from fabrics, finishes, lighting and table decoration. We provided a full architectural and interior design and fit out service to create a cool and fresh dining and drinking experience, also transforming the external appearance of the building. Artisan RV is linked to Foxfields Country Hotel, situated in the Ribble Valley.
Albert’s Didsbury Our client’s brief was for the total transformation of the existing building from a run down pub in Didsbury, South Manchester into a stylish restaurant and bar. Their requirement was for an outstanding, modern and striking design. Our involvement, as is usual with most Fasciato Architects projects, was for interior design as well as architecture. The fit out includes a long black polished marble bar, which both reflects the overhead lighting and is reflected in the polished ceramic floor. As always careful attention has been paid to the complete lighting scheme with the end result being a visually impressive and popular restaurant. The success of the project has resulted in Fasciato Architects appointment on other projects.
Sanders House Located on a steep south facing wooded hillside, Sanders House was extended and altered both to restore its original internal character of the original house and to create new cedar clad extensions. These comprise a family room and upper floor drawing room with a further matching extension providing a games area, and have large windows to take maximum advantage of the extensive views over the valley of the River Goyt. Because of the sloping hillside, the entrance of the house was moved to the upper floor, approached from the driveway over a short bridge. Access to the ground floor is via a new stair and stone turret with views across the valley. We also designed a free standing garden office built on posts over the hillside, and linked to the house by a short path.
Dandelion Cottage Working with a traditional Victorian house our client’s brief was to create a modern and open interior that would serve the dual function of house and office. The extension is flooded with light through a long glazed lantern and sliding/folding glazed screen, visually linking the interior and the walled garden. The stepped ceiling, lit by concealed and carefully located and designed lighting, creates a subtle interplay of light and shade and is a major feature of the interior design. From the road, the front of the house remains traditional with little indication of the modern interior and rear elevation.
Hillside Situated on a steep hillside in Cheshire, the design of the new house was affected by both the topography of the site and the very onerous planning constraints imposed by the local planning authority. For this reason, the house is partly subterranean. The ground floor comprises garaging and the study, with the bedrooms on the 1st floor having south east facing windows, facing the morning sun. Living areas and the kitchen are on the upper level which, due to the topography of the site, is at ground level at the rear. The south and west facing living room opens onto a roof garden over the bedrooms, level with the adjoining ground. A public footpath runs through the site. Our design incorporates a level bridge over the footpath linking the two areas of the divided garden.
Top Mill Top Mill Cottage is a new timber framed house on the site of a former mill. The house is largely open plan to the ground floor with a living room and kitchen/family room based around a central double height hall featuring an oak framed staircase. There are sliding partitions that can close off the living room and kitchen/family room as needed. The house echoes the traditional form of the former cottage on the site, with extensive glazing on the ground floor in order to take maximum advantage of the beautiful location.
