Previous design work on an extension in Nether Poppleton Currently on the market in our local area of Nether Poppleton is a stunning revitalised family home which has certainly stood the test of time for the rear extension, designed by one of our very own just over 20 years ago. The riverside property mixes historical features such as mosaic flooring, sash windows and re-clamped external brickwork, with complimentary contemporary values; with the use of cedar cladding being one of the main focuses externally and exposed laminated Glulam beams internally, this period property extension has a very natural and airy feel as well as not only matching the old and the new, but brings the outside in. The original design of the extension was always to be sympathetic and reflect the primary use of the building – originally two cottages, the owner has combined them together to create a long-lasting space that his family could grow up in. The large natural wooden frames throughout the back of the home allows for the remarkable river views to be maximised and experienced from all living areas, as well as making the most of the Westerly evening sun.

Office Refurbishment, York Modernisation of a dated office interior with a complete internal refurbishment featuring super-fast broadband, new air conditioning and fire detection systems. The ground floor was subdivided into 3 separate offices to maximise returns for the building’s owner. The project also features the installation of a full height decorative glass partition specially commissioned for our client.

Large Extension to a Family Home, Hessay This family home was recently the subject of an extensive remodelling to provide a new 2nd floor and large open plan kitchen/dining/living area that looks out onto the garden. The design is a response to suit the needs of a growing family; careful attention is paid to the sizes and positions of both the new and existing spaces to provide generous and inclusive social areas, and also a number of more private rooms. The full width Bi-fold doors allows for a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor space.

The White House, Rainton This family home set in the quaint village of Rainton has a very modern farmhouse feel inside and out. The owners wanted a more useable and modern addition to where there current orangery space was, and to make this countryside home stand out within the landscape. We have achieved this through the use of exposed timber, floor to ceiling windows and the unique dual-sloping roof.
