House extension, London SW8 A new focus is provided for this Victorian terrace house by opening up and reorganising the kitchen and dining areas to incorporate glazed rear and side extensions that allow natural light to penetrate deep into the spaces.

Private House, London SW3 The project involved the complete refurbishment of a four storey terraced townhouse within a Chelsea conservation area including a new two storey glazed rear extension creating a light and bright contemporary home.

House extension, London N8 By opening up and reorganising the existing kitchen and dining areas, new flexible, spacious and contemporary, open plan living areas are created within this Victorian semi detached family house situated within a conservation area. Incorporating a large new timber, painted render and glazed rear extension enables natural light to penetrate deep into the interior and reinforces the link to the garden. Timber decking and full width folding/sliding glazed doors peel back to allow full access to a sunny patio and continues the floor finish, visually drawing the eye out into the long south facing rear garden creating the illusion of space. Completed spring 2008.

Battersea Site B staff facilities A former derelict outhouse building is converted to create a new dining and staff facilities space. The existing structure and industrial materials are retained and left raw as salvaged archaeological remnants. New interventions are deliberately kept simple and low key using natural finished materials creating a relaxed and comfortable flexible space that can also be used for entertaining and presentations. Completed November 2002.

Malletti pizza bar, London A slice of Rome in Clerkenwell. Lawrence:King worked closely with our clients within a tight budget and timescale to design and construct this flagship fit out for a new chain of Italian style pizza bars for Malletti. Completed in spring 2008, it provides a casual and friendly dining experience conceived as a simple, contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Italian pizza bars found in Rome.

The Little Gym fit outs The Little Gym is based on a successful US concept of curriculum-based skill building, designed to teach children in a lively, fun and challenging environment and enabling them to discover that physical fitness and intellectual development can be an enjoyable part of their lives. Lawrence:King’s internal fit out of the UK?s first franchise provides a simple and robust design reflecting the client’s basic standards whilst stimulating the users and attracting new customers. It has now set the standard for future UK development of the franchise.
