Premier Inn Clinical Wing, 2nd Phase Of The Mittal Children’s Medical Centre The second phase of the project, designed in its entirety by Llewelyn Davies, involves the partial demolition of the old Cardiac Wing, which commenced in 2014. The delivery of the 2nd Phase in 2017 will complete the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre which will house the whole of GOSH’s acute inpatient areas providing world class care for children.

Shenzhen Terminal 2 Shenzhen Airport Authority declared Llewelyn Davies winners of the International Design competition in 1997 to design and develop a new 60,000m² Domestic Terminal at Shenzhen International Airport, to handle 7.2 million passengers by 2000. The project was completed and officially opened in 2000 as scheduled and arguably, the new Terminal 2 at Shenzhen Airport has led the way forward on the phenomenal growth of airport developments throughout China since.

Huntley Street – Mixed Use Project Llewelyn Davies was appointed by UCLHC to repair, refurbish and modernise 9 Grade II listed houses in Huntley Street, that had been converted over 40 years before into 29 apartments. Huntley Street is aligned on a north-south orientation and is located between Gower Street and Tottenham Court Road in the Bloomsbury Conservation Area within Fitzrovia in the London Borough of Camden. The apartments have all been modernised to the highest standards for letting to students from University College London and consultants at University College London Hospital.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Llewelyn Davies has worked with GOSH since 2005 developing its Development Control Plan and the design and delivery of 2 major architectural commissions, comprising the 18,500 sqm Mittal Children’s Medical Centre. The first of these, the £90 million Morgan Stanley Clinical Building was opened in April 2012 to critical acclaim from the hospital and patients. This wholly contemporary building was championed by English Heritage, supported by the GLA and delivered an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating, making it one of the UK’s greenest hospitals.

University Of Oxford The Edward Penley Abraham Building for the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology marks the first project designed by Llewelyn Davies for the University of Oxford. The new building house facilities for the Department of Pathology, comprises research laboratories and support facilities alongside a common room, library, seminar and meeting rooms and bistro. The building is integrated with laboratory and physically connects with existing laboratory buildings. This building is adjacent to a Grade I Listed Park. Initially the consultations were carried out sufficient to test a range of options and to prepare a costed feasibility study for the University. A key factor in the development of the briefing document and development of the design was the need to provide the optimum functional linkage between the existing campus and new building. This project achieved the equivalent of a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating. The Llewelyn Davies team was asked by the client for a “sustainable design solution in the absence of any existing Green Policy Guidance within the University of Oxford.”
