Sally Dernie has been delivering meticulous interiors for her busy professional clients since 2003. Her approach is to support the client in defining exactly what they would like for their home and then ensuring delivery with carefully curated details to create a perfect refuge. Her designs are intelligent, witty and sophisticated and delivered in stages for a tailor-made result.

After a successful career as a lawyer Sally retrained in 2000 as an interior designer, graduating from one of the country’s leading design schools, KLC. She then continued to full membership of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID). As the only professional body for interior design, standards are rigorous with full members admitted only after proven professionalism over six years. All members are required to follow rigorous processes, carry full insurance cover and complete continuous professional development. The BIID promotes high standards throughout the interior design profession and its contracts and standards were developed in line with those of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the wider construction industry. In 2010 Sally moved her home from London to Kent where she trains and competes in British Dressage competitions with her horse Giselle.

Sally specialises in working with professionals, tuning her services around their demanding jobs and allowing enough time for busy people to be involved in the design of their home so that the final work is completely in tune with their personality and lifestyle. The practice has been purposefully designed to ensure that Sally can lead each project personally for her clients providing consistent communication. Since 2003 the team of suppliers and contractors has been rigorously tested to ensure smooth delivery and exceptional finish.

The interior design service is flexible and could be for an individual room, groups of rooms, or a whole house. Sally’s approach ensures that the home is completed in stages over a period of time so that the design looks and feels enduring, durable and lasting. Treasured furniture, collections, libraries and artworks are also incorporated within the phased design.

Sally’s work focuses on properties in London; including Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Belgravia, Chiswick, Dulwich and Putney, country houses in Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Sussex and holiday homes worldwide.
