New build modern house in Hampstead London NW3 We were originally asked by the Clients to remodel and enlarge the small 1950s townhouse standing on a pleasantly secluded south-facing plot. But after some analysis it became obvious that poor quality and small size of the original house was making it unviable for transformation into a comfortable residence. Demolishing the original house and building a new modern house in its place was the only possible alternative.
Detached House in Highgate North West London, N6 Commissioned to completely modernise and extend the living and bedroom areas of this period house in a Highgate conservation area, TAG Architects succeeded in obtaining planning consent for a substantial enlargement of the ground floor, revisions to the front of the house and remodelling of the rear garden. This resulted in transformation of the living areas from a number of small rooms into a well organised, flexible open plan area, well integrated with the rear terraces and the rear garden.
Victorian Terraced House in Battersea, London, SW11 Despite giving impression of being well preserved externally, this classic Victorian terraced house was in urgent need of internal refurbishment, repairs and upgrades. The layouts were impractical and inefficient, all services of electrics, plumbing and heating needed replacement, internal plastering was unsafe and structural defects needed intervention of an engineer.
Modern Mews House in Belsize Park North-West London, NW3 Built in the 1970s, this modest family mews house with an internal garage, had suffered considerable dilapidation over time. With a limited budget, our brief was to remodel and refurbish the property, providing an open plan layout on both floors.
Arts & Crafts Detached House in Belsize Park North-West London, NW3 We were commissioned to substantially extend, rearrange and remodel this originally Arts & Crafts coach house in Belsize Park Conservation Area. The house had very few original features preserved, with the interiors dating back to the ’60s and 70’s, when it was substantially enlarged.
Terrace Apartment, Highgate, London N6 We were commissioned to thoroughly overhaul and remodel this apartment, a top floor of a grand detached Victorian villa. Very poor existing condition of the apartment required a complete strip and removal of all fittings and finishes, down to the structure. The existing building fabric was restored and upgraded, new soundproofing was fitted to ceilings and floors, new underfloor heating, water and lighting systems were installed, old windows and sliding terrace doors were replaced.
