Bath Bolthole We were commissioned to renovate the interiors and gardens of a tired townhouse to create a stylish and relaxing bolthole in the world heritage city of Bath. One of our favourite type of briefs, ensuring seamless cohesion inside and out, it covered every element of the design process, from spatial planning to lighting, electrics, kitchens, bathrooms and planting. The house had plenty of character but felt a little unloved. A rickety conservatory was replaced with a stone extension, incorporating glass roof lights and big windows for that wonderfully light, bright and airy feel in the new kitchen. While outside, the garden was designed with complementary finishes, materials and colours to help create a sense of continuity between the interior and exterior spaces. We combined antique and contemporary pieces to give the feeling of a home having naturally evolved over time; and key to this was incorporating some of our clients’ sentimental art and sculpture, so that it really represented their own style and personality.

Farmhouse Luxe Over the last six years, we have gradually renovated this period farm house, offering a contemporary, welcoming feel that is honest to the property’s age and surrounds. Initially starting with the clients’ indoor swimming pool, meadow garden and bedrooms, we were most recently commissioned to re-design their kitchen and living room.

Contemporary Regency We have worked closely with our clients over the last five years in sympathetically modernising and refreshing this Grade II* listed villa, believed to be designed by renowned architect, John Pinch the Elder. The clients were keen to introduce a classic, contemporary feel that sat comfortably in its Regency context. Initially starting on the orangery and living room, the client then commissioned us to work across the drawing room, dining room, bedrooms and onto the kitchen. Incorporating some of the clients’ own pieces, our full room schemes included lighting plans and saw the introduction of bespoke items and accessories to effortlessly mix function and character.

Loft Living Our clients asked us to create a very contemporary, masculine and stylish design scheme that enhanced the incredible views across the roof tops beyond. We created a palette of colours and materials that would work inside the apartment and on the adjoining roof terrace to help link the two spaces. We created a backdrop of soft greys, adding interest and warmth with vibrant soft furnishings. The scheme included a full refurbishment, with a bespoke AV and electrical layout to create a dedicated cinema space.

Classic Contemporary Our client’s wonderful art collection was the inspiration for this scheme. We wanted to provide a backdrop for their bold, contemporary art and Asian furniture that was sympathetic to the period of the house and classic architectural features. We used a combination of black american walnut, with aged and antique brass and neutral linens on sofas. This provided a rich and warm backdrop for punchy and fresh accent colours. The richer hues come to life in the evening and look wonderful as the colder nights set in too. Lighting was also key to the success of this scheme and we took time to tailor a lighting and electrical layout which incorporated new and existing AV equipment. “Woodhouse and Law work hard to know their client and as such their design work is spot on, always managing to insert something special into the equation.
